met the director today

He came in our class today as a guest speaker and we saw the movie trailer for his film "The Rebel" and we got to ask him questions. He's a cool guy and tells me he is in talks with Harvey Weinstein to remake an outdated 60's kung-fu movie and Gong Li and Chow-Yun Fat are involved. He says Hollywood is all talk but this deal might come through because his lawyer and Weinstein's lawyers are in talks with a contract already.

He's here in Hawaii for HIFF with "The Rebel" and as an opportunity came to our class to talk about film. He's a great guy and says this film will be released on DVD sometime next summer. Since Weinstein is releasing it, you can most likely get it at your local DVD sales place.
