Sy is one bad mofo!!!
Dustin Nguyen's character Sy was completely badass!! It was pretty cool to see a Vietnamese martial arts film for the first time, but a movie that had an equally menacing but memoriable villian as well.
shareI'm watching the film as we speak and it's pretty good so far, but one thing keeps raising my eyebrow...does Sy have some sort of supernatural power, because he got stabbed in the chest and it didn't penetrate or draw blood...also he ran the knife along his throat to show the girl he can't be cut...what's up with all this?

That technique he is using is called Iron Jacket. It does in fact exist but only really used in performance arts much like board breaking. If you watch the special features, you can find out more about how they incorporated it in the film.
shareIn the commentary, it's said that his character has delved into black magic by taking short cuts in his use of the equivalent of Qi gong in order to gain his powers. By doing that, the disciplines are corrupted and the body ages faster, thus that's why his hair was turning gray.
