for some strange reason, this board discussion popped into my head while i was watching the most recent show. i think that the format of the show is pretty unique.. especially in the first season. what other shows regularly schedule rants, moments of reconsideration (which also kind of goes against your point of it being only one view, never taking anything else into consideration), and letters to other "celebrities" wedged between extremely candid interviews and musical performances with all the grit of being in a garage as opposed to a hyped stage exhibition with pyrotechnics?
more to your point that it only shows one point of view, i question whether you remember the name of the show... the henry rollins show. it's not the henry rollins allows other people to voice their opinions that are vastly different from his show. no, it's not called that at all. if you don't like the format, you can get your own show, and call it the polara2 allows other people to talk because he'd rather criticize than do anything about it show.
lastly, i think on henry's show, hands down, the interviews are far more candid and real than on other talk shows. on other talk shows, it's more for entertainment and flair. make the audience laugh, plug your movie, end scene. but this is not the focus on henry's show. i think the questions are more genuine from henry. no, he probably doesn't have interns who sit around and research upcoming guests so he can read the summary and ask questions written by said interns. but isn't that refreshing to watch something different?
if it weren't for my horse, i wouldn't have spent that year in college.
