What was up with Jiro? *spoilers*

**SPOILERS**

Where the hell did he come from? I mean, the end of the movie he rips his wig off, and now he's blond, and all of a sudden Saki's all weepy? Was he a blond guy earlier in the film and I missed it? Was he supposed to be the mom's boyfriend? Had Saki fallen in love with him because he gave her his Shuffle? I don't understand why Saki was so pissed at him when he revealed his true hair color, and then appeared to cry when he died.

To tell you the honest truth, I've always wondered the exact same thing. And when I read your post, I had to watch it again, and I'm most of the way through the school scenes with no sight of him, but I have a possible idea to consider, though it's not very plausible. Perhaps she was so upset, because he used his mask, so that he could be more handsome and make it easier to manipulate Saki and Reika.

Though, I'm not sure of that's very plausible, just a thought.

A few things in the movie made me wonder if I was missing out on a backstory from the old movies or TV show or something, but I am like 99 percent sure that Saki was all weepy because she had supposedly fallen in love with him. Yeah, they did a bad job depicting that, it does seem like she just fell in love with him because she thought he was hot and he stuck a headphone in her ear. But, throughout they did seem to imply that she had a thing for him. That was a bit weak. The main reason I bought the movie was to see Aya Matsuura in a movie, ha, and I liked some aspects of it, but it had a lot of issues like that (and not enough Yo-Yo action). Aya looked great in that skirt though, and in the battle suit.

I thought she had fallen for the other girl actually.

I can't really say why she got all weepy. But as for him turning out to be blonde, while I am no expert on Japanese culture, I think having blonde is significant in some way. I mean, look at almost any anime. The blonde character is the most powerful fighter(or duelist, or whatever). Now that I think about, I really want to find out why that is.
