I have seen it and I am about to see it for the second time after some time. It has decent performances, great, truly great actors, great, creepy atmosphere and an okay story. Yes, the CGI isnt perfect, but is that a reason to trash a movie? Bad CGI? If everything else is at least okay? I dont know, but I think this was one of the best recent werewolf movies.
sharePersonally, I found it rather boring and predictable. Granted, it's a remake so a certain amount of predictability is expected, but even the changes and additions to the story weren't enough to lessen that IMO. The less said about the bad "homage" to 'An American Werewolf in London' the better.
It does look fantastic, some of the CGI aside, and Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt are both good in it, but that's about all I can say on the positive side.

I don't think this movie's bad buzz relates only to the bad CGI. Every movie with CGI has bad CGI in a lot of people's books. I believe its a mixture of things: the five different release dates, expectations that any remake will be bad and good old-fashioned groupthink.

The film was dopey as Hell but I enjoyed it... in a guilty pleasure sort of way. What can I say, I was won over by cool Werewolf makeup and excess gore.

I'd like it more if they'd did the Wolfmen in the old practical way, like in "Trick R' Treat".
It is not terrible but boring.
To much CGI (all the jumping through town 'n stuff), but transformation and little stuff are fine.
Jumpscares are bad (overdone) and don't really fit.
On bright side, really good actors.
I really tried to like it, even watched it 2 and half times, but couldn't.
And I love werewolf movies, and enjoy even the *beep* ones...this one is not *beep* just boring.
It's rather slow and boring at times but enough good moments to make it worthwhile. And I love old fashioned Gothic horror movies so I was guaranteed to like it from the start. Maybe people can't like it because the original was an important part of their lives so they feel a remake is trying to take its place.
