THEY CRASHED THE ENZO!

HOW COULD THEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that stupid dude

reply

And they also crashed a real Porsche Carerra GT AND a Lamborghini Murcielago (on purpose, mind you) because they wanted the chrashes to be "realistic".

Morons. Those are amazing, and expensive, cars. And they crash them for realism. When we have amazing cgi technology available and for a film whose fans probably won't give a rip about realism.

Some people should not be allowed near money.

reply

The enzo wasn't crashed for the movie, eddie griffin was practicing for the producer's charity car race. This producer guy sounds like a total jackass, writing a movie solely for the purpose of having it star his car collection. I hadn't even heard of it until two minutes ago.

reply

"I hadn't even heard of it until two minutes ago."

Exactly. This is starting to reek of a 1.5 million dollar marketing stunt. Not much more expensive than putting together a second trailer and probably far more effective.

reply

Marketing Stunt?!! Eddie Griffin is a comedian not a dumbass! You think that guy would consider or even have the balls to drive a car into a wall? The car almost flipped! THINK!!!

reply

he's a comedian AND a dumbass. he shouldn't have touched the enzo if he didn't know how to drive it.

This is your life, and it's ending, one minute at a time

reply

HAHAHA... and now there is starting to be speculation that this is actually the case!!! Fantastic!!! Frankly, I never saw him get out of the smashed car, I saw the camera cut away to later, with him standing at the side looking upset.

FWIW... I was just screwing around anyway. No need to flip out and tell me to "THINK."

This is priceless though... hahahahaaaa

I cannot see how this Enzo was described as a write off. It was such a low speed impact in comparison to other Enzo crashes, including that one that hit a pole at 160mph and was literally torn to shreds. Ferrari sent engineers to quote on the repair bill. US$250,000 was their estimate. So this one would be a doddle to repair IMO.

The producer must have just exaggerated this accident damage to boost interest in the movie - whether it was planned to go that way is another matter, but if he has the ruthlessness to destroy a real Carrera GT then I wouldn't put it past him to give the instructions to punt the Enzo into a concrete wall!!

reply

I agree, he is a jackass. He also put his girlfriend in the movie and she cant act. This movie fill die on impact, the Enzo might cost 1.5 but the producer has about 38M into the film and ads. I'm sure he owes the bank/Investors a boat load of money. A COMPLETE IDIOT,

reply

lol it's not like they're killing peole, come on :) they're just cars! I personally appreciate the fact that they actually crashed real cars instead of having some nerd do it in CGI.

reply

Not a Lamborghini Murcielago it was a Diablo that was wrecked

reply

What a shame. Why anyone would destroy a one and ahalf million dollar car is beyond logic. Even if it was a marketing stunt which I doubt , but hey for arguments sake let's say it was. I can think of better ways to blow 1.5 million. I'd use that money to invest in cool CGI and get the same effects for the movie and I'd still have the car to show off.

Also I'm not sure why the director would willingly put his cars in a movie and risk damaging them. Look at the Fast and The Furious Series. They used Year One parts on old wrecks to get the effects they needed for some stunts. And the crazy car totalling scenes they used CGI. Just p*sses me off when rich idiots start totaling perfectly good cars that average Joe's like myself would give a right nut for. Besides the movie needs more T & A . After all isn't that what appeals to the guys that see this movie. I know if they showed more skin it would certainly help improve the movie. Also add a good " Bullet " type chase and you'd have a great movie. I know my opinion is a bit bias by hey Skin sells movies.

reply

Why did they crash those cars when they could have given them to us??? What a waste!

reply

Rich guys blow their money on foreign junk anyway, so they might at well crash the real thing. Personally, I would rather see how good they can pull off a real crash than see a totally computer generated one.

I like American cars. Not for patriotic reasons or anything, I just think all those Ferraris, Lambos, etc. look like crap, but everyone has their tastes. I can't wait to see Transformers with the Mustang police car/robot and the new Camaro.

One more thing, for anyone who is still reading my crap...it's all about the driver more than anything. I was watching some show on Spike, which could have been staged, but whatever, where about 10 cars were competing in different events. The one event I saw while watching, pitted a Ford F-150 against a Lamborgini or some other freakish looking car, in a contest where they had to swerve around these neon posts, hitting each one, then turn around and drag race back and stop in a designated area. The pickup truck beat the Lambo by 3 tenths of a second, and the Lambo missed a turn and got a five second penalty added to that. I know that means nothing, I just love seeing Fords beat foreign cars, like they did back in the day when the GT took the Le Mans crown from Ferrari.

I don't know why people are assuming the accident wasn't an accident. What are you guys car insurance investigators trying to get out of paying a claim. Just kidding. but I saw the video it looks like what it was, an accident. The theories of the producer staging the whole accident to increase promtions of the movie, is a bit of a stretch, but hey what do I know, it very well could be the case, but I doubt it, accidents, even stupid ones happen to nice cars, you hate to see em, but that's what we got car insurance for. But the main point of this is, what a waste of money, no car is worth 1.2 mill (IMHO), I'd rather have a house than a car for that kind of money.

reply

lol @ a car being 1.2 million.

reply

THEY BLEW IT UP!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! DAMN THEM, DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!!!!

reply

Hahaha thats funny , good thing they crashed em they're pieces of shi_t anyways
most of those exotics wouldn't even last 80,000 miles on the engine.
I rather buy 3 Z06's and put the rest of the money in my bank account than get a enzo.

Yeah, I actually came to IMDB to start a similar post. I'm quite a movie fanatic, but above all I am a car fanatic. Now, some people complain that this was a waste of money, and I'm not contradicting you. And while I don't think wasting money like this is a good idea, and that there are much better uses for it, I frankly couldn't care less if they took a thousand Chevy Aveos (which is what I drive) and lit them on fire. My biggest problem is that they took cars that are in a limited series and are not produced anymore and tore them to shreds, such as the Enzo and the Carrera GT. And this is what really gets to me, because to me that seems like destroying history. I know some people may not place a car and a famous painting in the same category, but this reminds me of Futurama when they go shoot the Mona Lisa after it was fired from a catapult. It's not even, as some people said, the fact that they could've given them to me, but you know, in however many years when we're gonna drive antimatter (or insert whatever means of producing energy you prefer) fueled cars, cars like this are gonna be in museums as the pinnacle of gasoline powered technology. And since there are so many similar cathedrals in Europe, why don't we go blow up some of the less important ones.

Who ever setup the track should've known better. Why the hell would you want to put concrete median slabs in a damn turn? Just use those damn cones. It's better to let that car spin out of control and break the axel buy skidding over a ditch in the grass, rather than have it slam into the concrete slab. It seemed like a big parking lot with no light poles or anything so the car could've spun out of control and not hit anything.

And Eddie Griffin should've warmed up to driving fast. Then he should've tried to break his limits. But I mainly blame the person who puts those concrete medians right into the turn. Search for "eddie griffin enzo" at YouTube and you can see what happen. He was going way too fast in the turn and he turned the wheels, but it still kept on going straight.

I was riding with my cousin in his sports car and that's what happen to us. We came out of a sharp turn. He lost control and skid right of the road into a small ditch. It broke the axle and the disc brakes, but didn't damage anything else.

reply

Probably neither ferrari or lambo ou sell any more cars to this guy, since they have very restrict rules on how their cars must be threated.
Nevertheless, is kind of normal to expect things like this in the usa... shame on you guys.

reply

your a douche.

i almost cried when i saw it!

also cried outta pain watching how utterly s**t this movie was, but thats another story....
