After Snakes on a Plane there was Snakes on a Train. Now this. What next? You know, if people just stopped going to see this kind of imitaton garbage (pointless sequels and remakes included) sooner or later Hollywood might wake up and start making real movies again. Just a thought..
George A. Romero will live forever, even after he's undead!!
Actually, this movie was conceived long before SOAP was announced - so you can't really accuse them of being copycats. If everyone made movies exactly like Romero, you'd cry "foul" as well - I also don't like the running zombies as much, but they do shake things up and make each venture a surprise. This film is a lot of fun - it may not be a classic, but it has a lot more to offer than some of the really dreadful undead fare out there (and I've seen some real garbage with a "zombie" label and nice art tacked on.
Give the film a chance - you might even enjoy yourself!
I love everything about this. This movie is like a Reeseās Peanut Butter Cup. You take dry crappy peanut butter, crappy chocolate, put them together, and somehow get a delicious candy treat.
Flight of the Living Dead combines a rip-off premise, bad writing, directing, acting and special effects and combines them into what will undoubtedly be a delicious movie treat.
Actually, I tend to think putting random stuff on a plane IS fairly original, at least compared to the latest remake they've hatched up.
Granted, there are some good remakes out there, but lets go through the list of remakes and sequels coming out this year. Heck, it might be easier to list the ones that AREN'T remakes or sequels, but we'll just go for it anyways:
The Hitcher Live Free or Die Hard Transformers POTC3:AWE Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Hostel II Spiderman 3 Ocean's 13 TMNT Hannibal Rising Are We Done Yet? 28 Weeks Later The Hills Have Eyes 2 (a sequel to a remake, ugh, double threat)
"Brought to you by Carl's, Jr. 'F@ck you! I'm eating.'"
The hills have eyes 2 is a sequal to a sequal to a remake. There was an original Hills have Eyes 2 and it sucked just about as much as the NEW hills have eyes 2.
I just came back from a movie festival in Montreal were it was screened. This is the most intense zombie movie that I recall having seen! It makes Damn of the dead and Resident Evil look like Barney the Dinosaur! It was the first time I ever saw people leave a theater for being too fragile for the movie! This is intense *beep*
You come from nothing, you're going back to nothing...what have you lost? NOTHING! -Eric Idle
I was pleasantly surprised by this flick and I consider it must-see for zombie fans. Nowadays, all I ask is that a horror film not suck. Usually they do, but this goofy mess somehow worked. Loved that nun. Look at all the comments; this film sure engenders a lot of discussion for a DTV product.
I note that we have two actors from the 1999's "The Mummy" here. We also get a puffy-faced Dale Midkiff of "Time Trax," a great syndicated show from the 90s syndie hey-day. I assume the rest of the actors are TV people, but I wouldn't know them these days. Megan sure was cute, though.
Are they paying you to shill the movie on this board? Because there's no way you think this is that intense.
I gave this movie 6 out of 10 in the comments section, and my biggest criticism was that it wasn't intense or gory enough. It's not a piece of junk, and is entertaining and moderately scary in places, but it it nowhere near being the most intense zombie movie; if you think so, you haven't seen many.
Where have you gone, J. Lo? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
I hate to tell you this zawarudomudamudamuda but Snakes on a Train is a rip off of snakes on a plane. It was made by aslyum pictures. The reason it was out before SOAP was because they wanted to get the jump on that movie. This is the same company that has put out Universal SoldierS, Transmorphers and several other rip offs of big name movies. They are also putting out I am Omega, a rip off of the upcoming Will Smith movie, I am Legend. Around December they are releasing Alien Vs Hunter to rip off Aliens Vs Predator: Requim.
I've seen quite a few of the Asylum's movies, and they actually can put out a quality product, for a B movie that is. Also find it worthy to mention that, although the titles of their films are usually designed to play off of an already established film (ie, rip-off), the storylines of said movies are usually pretty original.
You know Zombie...If you haven't seen it yet, you can't really call it a piece of junk, now can you? I just *beep* hate people who judges movies, before even watching them.
It was put into production before Snakes... and why would anyone 'copy' a film that tanked? Come on now, make some sense sir.
Plus it's a much better film than Snakes anyway. I had a blast and would see it again. My review is up at bloody-disgusting and my blog if you want more details, but to sum up: Perfect B movie fun. Unlike Snakes, which tried too hard to be a real movie before the snakes showed up (which occured like 45 minutes in. Zombies start attacking round the 15 min mark in Flight).
Agreed. This is a bteer movie than Snakes on a Plane. I actually liked Snakes on a Plane, but I loved this film. Don't judge it until you see it. You'll like it! Well... if you like Zombie movies you will like it. In any event, this IS a good movie, much better than I expected. I just watched it cuz I knew there were Zombies in it, I didn't even know the premise before watching it.
I was surprised to see some actors that I recognized...
