Old Volvo?

Any reason for him driving this particular 1980's car? It's inconsistent with the rich business type... And a little bit conspicuous to use for nightly killings.

Well, witnesses would remember seeing it. Any old lady would be able to correctly identify it as a Volvo because of its characteristic look.

You could take any faceless modern car to blend in more... Not a wise choice for a serial killer that's supposed to have every detail covered and vacuums the crime scene...

Maybe the makers just enjoyed using old relics. They did cast Demi Moore.

LOL ... I think you have a good point, however I think she is a bit more statuesque.

There could be many reasons he uses the old Volvo - maybe it wont break down on him because its reliable? Its old and most likely would not stand out in MOST people's minds. Also its a known fact that 78.3% of ALL Volvo drivers are baitsheet INSANE!

old volvos are awesome and last forever

You're reading into it too much. It's just supposed to be a bland, anonymous car that blends in. Yes, they coulve chosen something better but if you want to get all technical, Volvos like his are square, defined, safe, precise -all charateristics of himself.

maybe it was a play on how many serial killers drove vw's?
volvo's are also an iconic european car, and also incredibly dependable, and also hold their value very well.

The cars personality matched the killers character; meticulous, precise, extacting, reliable, efficent. His house is the same way, his basement, his shirts, his glasses, bowtie, his office...and why not his car?

A good point about it being conspicuous though, people remember seeing them.

everyone loves a volvo.
