*beep* WAHRSTE?
MY LEADER - THE REALLY WAHRSTE TRUTH ABOUT ADOLF HITLER
The absolutely most truthful truth about Adolf Hitler
Nadine :)
The word 'wahrste' doesn't really exist in the German language. It's a funny exaggeration of 'wahr' - which means 'true'. I guess in English you'd say 'the truest' though I'm not sure if it generates the same effect in English as it does in German because my English ain't that good. Under most circumstances 'wirklich' would mean 'really' but in this specific phrase 'wirklich' means 'honestly'. So my suggestion for a translation would be: MY LEADER - THE HONESTLY TRUEST TRUTH ABOUT ADOLF HITLER.
(I am German - so I literally understand the meaning of the German title) I hope I could be of help.
Was ich, aber, als Ausländer unter den Titel verstanden habe ist aber "the real truthiest truth about Adolf Hitler." Ich meine es nur, dass obwohl Deutsch nicht meine Muttersprache ist, und dieses Wort nicht im Deutschen Sprache existiert habe ich trotzdem verstehen können.
now in English
What I, as a foreigner in Germany, understood from the title was "the real truthiest truth about Adolf Hitler." I say this only because even though German's a foreign language, and this "wahrste" word doesn't actually exist in German, I was still able to understand what they meant.
MEIN FUHRER: THE TRULY TRUEST TRUTH ABOUT ADOLF HITLER
NOW I SAY MEIN FUHRER CUZ IF THIS WAS TRANSLATED AND SHOWN IN AMERICAN THEATER ANY1 WHO ISNT A COMPLETE RETARD WILL KNO WAT 'MEIN FUHRER MEAN' BUT NOT ALL THAT OTHER *beep* KIND OF LIKE HOW WE CALL KAMIKAZE KAMIKAZE AND NOT DIVINE WIND AND TORA TORA TORA TORA TORA TORA NOT TIGER TIGER TIGER. U KNO WAT IM SAYING?
I'm German and I live in Britain. I think MEIN FUHRER: THE TRULY TRUEST TRUTH ABOUT ADOLF HITLER is the best translation so far. I actually think it's great. Don't forget that keeping alliterations in place is part of a good translation... And I completely agree with not translating "Fuehrer" into leader, translating it does really change the meaning of the title in my eyes as "Fuhrer" is synonymous with Hitler in Germany as well as in the English speaking world (although the word is used in other contexts in German).
shareIt's "My Leader: The absolute truthiest truth about Adolf Hitler." Trust me, I'm German.
