Welcome to Denver!

I am here at work at our building at 17th & Blake and have been peeking at the filming of this movie! Think we just saw Eddie a little while ago in a silver Mercadies heading up 17th with a small police escort! It is wonderful to be and feel like a part of all of this! Keep wanting to talk to the crew and extras, but manage to bite my tongue! It has been hard to manouver around getting in and out of our office, but it is all worth the while! I hope all goes well and hope the industry comes back to Denver to film in the future!
Thanks - Roni

They were at Confluence Park the other day too. It is kind of cool that more and more movies are being filmed here but it is kind of a pain in the ass, and getting to work because of this filming has been a major headache. There's a reason I live in Denver and not L.A. ;)

To bad they weren’t filming in City Park. That’s only a few blocks from my house.

I don’t think movies will make a habit of it, but it’s nice to see a movies filmed in Denver. It will be nice to look at something on the big screen and recognize it because to see it every day! The only other times I’ve experience that was when I was watching “Things to do in Denver When You’re Dead” and “Real World: Denver.”

They have trucks at 17th & Broadway (right across the street from me- my window looks out over all the activity =). Yesterday they were filming in the Brown Palace and they have an entire lane on Broadway blocked off for them. One of my co-workers talked to a crew member who said they have several filming locations but that they will be at the Brown Palace the whole week.

My brother said they were supposed to use the mass transit trains somehow but nothing more was said of it.

I live right by Belmar and my coworkers were all bragging to me about the shoot over the weekend. I've no reason to go to Belmar, so I didn't know , and they didn't bother to call me!

Can't wait to see the film only for the Colo. locations.

I just saw this movie today. I was on the 16th Mall by the Office Depot two years ago. And low and behold I saw Eddie Murphy driving down the street. At first I was thinking that is odd someone is driving their car down the Mall. But then I realized all the cameras and saw that it was Eddie Murphy! Wished I had a camera phone at the time.

The movie was cute, I watched it with my daughter. Yara is so adorable.

Frankly, it is refreshing. It seems like 90% of Hollywood movies are set in LA or Manhattan. It is nice to see a different location once in awhile. I'd like to see more movies in Portland, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, Dallas, Seattle, Saint Louis and other "big" cities to have a bit more diversity for urban movies. If you tried to judge America just based on movie settings you'd think almost everyone lives in LA or Manhattan with the occasional DC or Chicago...but there are other cities out there that make for more interesting shooting locations.

A lot of movies are filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina for the past 20 years. They call it Wilmywood. Dawson's Creek, Matlock, and One Tree Hill were filmed there.
