Am I the only one who prefered this to Bedtime Stories?

Okay - they are both the same... but I found this one had a more of a human element to it. It was more believable somehow. With Bedtime Stories - although funny - I felt unsatisified with it. I much prefered this over Bedtime Stories as it wasn't full of dumb Sandler jokes [although Russell Brand pretty much saved BS for me]. Just my opinion.... Could even go as far as to say maybe Adam Sandler stole another script and "Sandalised" it to make it a mess - but I'm not...

I liked Bedtime Stories, and wondered when I saw the premise for this film whether it would be something similar. In fact, I searched the comments for a thread like this one, to see if anyone else had drawn the same parallel. The ironic thing is, although Beejai has said he liked Imagine That more than Bedtime Stories, the chances are I'll never watch Imagine that, because outside of the Shrek series, Eddie Murphy hasn't made a decent film since the eighties.

I haven't seen Norbit or any of his other recent examples, because I was so put off by the likes of The Nutty Professor, Dr Doolittle, etc etc. I did make the mistake of watching Meet Dave, and cringed through most of it. So until I start seeing reviews saying things like 'reminiscent of Beverley Hills Cop', or 'up there with Trading Places', I'm just going to steer clear of Eddie Murphy movies. With the exception of the next 'Shrek', that is!

I didn't see the movie but it looked to be a lot more tolerable than Bedtime Stories.

I call movies that are considered 'bad' hated movies.

I agree with you Beejai.

I just watched Imagine That going into it thinking it would be some fantasy film...but it really wasn't. Very "human" and heartfelt. Probably one of the cuter more heart-warming family films i've seen in awhile. Perfectly balanced family elements with humour that adults can appreciate.

I wasn't getting that with Bedtime Stories... I had a hard time sitting through it because it just didn't balance cohesively, boring, and not all that funny... honestly...there's no comparison between the two in terms of execution...

The little girl was adorable btw...

This is massively superior to "Bedtime Stories", yes - but that's not exactly a high benchmark to meet!

This movie is not as bad as they made it out to be. I never once saw a special effect being used and it was mostly their imagination. I kept thinking they would show us what this world looked like with their imagined minds but didn't, preferring that we [the audience] use our own imagination and i liked it a lot.
