Symbolism of a man letting go

A neat thing that I don't see discussed in reviews and the message board is the symolism of the goo-gah for Eddie's character. The goo-gah was the programmed thought that financial security was required for a successful, happy life.

With it, the movie showed the transformation of a man with his work-life balance far too gone - back to his family.

The tipping point was when he danced out in public. At that point-when he realized he was having fun/hapiness with his daughter-something snapped inside him and the "man versus self" began.

He struggled with the thought of letting go of his behaviors that provided him his security blanket (financial security) as programmed in all professionals: work longer, harder, and never show a personal consideration in your decision making. The goo-gah obsession that ensued was the programming inside of him trying to hold on to all it knew; while his conscience was leading him to a greater pursuit of happiness.

Yet another movie that teaches us that in the end, its about family and friends.

Pretty cool. Really enjoyed it.
