This movie was not a masterpiece, but I have seen worse movies with larger budgets. It's disheartening to see a movie that was enjoyable do so poorly at the box office.
I really hope they recoup their costs in some ways, because it's refreshing to see a film that is not a sequel, a superhero flick or a remake or in 3D.
If you're looking for a good yarn, this is worth the watch.
My guess is that this was probably produced for direct to dvd / vod, and the cinema release was some kind of accident :) Depending on the budget, they might recoup the investment from stoners going to the video store.
shareWhat was the budget for this film? The cast wasn't exactly full of no-names either, must've been looking at a fairly sizeable loss, it would explain why it went from theatre to DVD inside 2 months anyway.

shareIt did go to Netflix Instant and Netflix is probably the biggest online streaming service out there right now. So maybe it earned some money when they sold the streaming rights to Netflix.
