Hanks doesn't work

Does anyone else feel that Hanks' portrayal was very amateurish and unbelievable? I mostly just laughed and blew off any belief in his character and could not watch him anymore, especially after they start tapping his mother's activities. Horrible performance in my opinion. He's famous, and will go places thanks to dad, but this one tainted me...hope he does better in the future.
