Elvis would be soooo upset.

I only watched about 20 minutes of this movie and had to take it back. It was so bad---I saw better impersonators running around Graceland with silly outfits on. I've been an Elvis fan since 1955 when I was 11. This was terrible.

I saw only ten minutes of it, and already hate Stanley...

I find it interesting you only watch 10 minutes of a documentary and have such a strong few of someone.

reply

does that mean you enjoyed this movie? (it was supposed to be a movie right, not a documentary?)

dspetrina,
This work was not about Elvis. It was about some of David Stanleys life with Elvis. As an independant film, it was done very well.

this movie is probably one of the worst movies ive seen about Elvis, did anyone else notice at no time was Elvis's name even mentioned. he was either called boss or the king. which is just as well considering the really bad impersonation of Elvis that was portrayed in this film.
i realize the movie was not particularly about Elvis, but the movie would not have been made if it werent for Elvis. so the character of the king should have been showed with a little respect, putting that aside, the movie itself was pretty crappy. Yeah weve heard it all before, sex, drugs and rock and roll make for a eventual crash, but you would think that a movie based on the experiences of a kid whos step brother and boss was the king of rock and roll could at least show some insight and been at least interesting.
but i guess what we wind up with is another example of someone else trying to make buck at the expense of a man whos life ended so tragically.

You must remember that this movie was not about Elvis it was about Dave Stanley, who happens to be a friend of mine. Even though I think there was a bit too much bad scenes that I don't think the hard core EP fans wanted to see, It had to be told.
And so it was...

I suppose you could call me one of those 'hard core' Elvis fans. However, I watched the movie with an open mind, because I was keen to hear David Stanley's story.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'a story that had to be told', because it really didn't 'tell' anything we didn't already know (old news).
