What Happened to the 'Colonel?'

A very fine film. And yes, Peter Dobson is fantastic as Elvis Presley.* I notice that one person is conspicuosly missing from this film: "Colonel" Tom Parker (or his fictional counterpart.)** Since Parker was the guiding force in The King's life and career, his exclusion must have been intentional. The question is, why?



*He is called "Boss" or "The King" in this film. It's interesting to note that Elvis' real first and last names are never used.

**The character called "Frank" seems to be the counterpart of Red West, one of The King's bodyguards.
