I didn't get this point

Obvious SPOILER

Why wouldn't the diamonds have gotten stuck in the plumbing?
I can see one or two, or even a handful of small diamonds passing through the pipes. But whole drawersful?

And especially, how did the humongo diamond end up in the toilet?
I took it that it had somehow made its way backwards up the pipes, clogging the bowl. Anti-gravity?
Or did someone drop it in the bowl? Who?

Anybody?

Well he did work in maintenance and he had been there for 15 years I think it was, so he would have had plenty of time to study the pipes. He could have tested them by using something similar in size to the uncut diamonds, say small pebbles to make sure they wouldn't get clogged. Actually using a toilet is a much better idea than a sink, a toilet can handle more volume.

He would have to use a toilet to get that large diamond disposed of, i guess it was just too large to go down.

He did have a stopwatch so he probably had a generally good idea just how many uncut diamonds could be dumped through the sink's plumbing per unit of time without getting clogged.

He attached a canvas hose to the drain after removing the trap and ran the hose into the sewer. The canvas hose was slightly bigger than the metal pipe and by removing the trap and running the water the diamonds would have flowed smoothly into the sewer.
