It was filmed in my hometown of Hollywood Florida, but I'm still wondering where the lighthouse is? I sure don't remember ever seeing a lighthouse in Hollywood.

I loved the movie, every actor did a convincing job!

There is no lighthouse! There are no rocks either! Those lighthouse scenes must have been done at Lighthouse Point or somewhere north. And when young Chris gets a letter from his school, not only is his zipcode wrong, and his address is way west of the Lakes District, but the postmark is Minneapolis Minn! However it was fun to see all the jalousie windows and iron porch poles. The flavor of the town was captured beautifully, suited the story line well, and the acting was superb. Good movie!

AND.. the North Miami Beach Police are in Miami-Dade County. They would never respond to a Hollywood call. Unlike several Broward County cities which are under the jurisdiction of the Broward Sheriff's office, Hollywood has its very own fine force.

It is the Cape Florida lighthouse in Bill Baggs State Park at the south end of Key Biscayne. Looks like most of the beach scenes were filmed there too.
