The title


As I look at it, I translate: 'The sooner you die, the longer you're dead.'
Anybody got a better translation? I couldn't get much meaning out of that.

Your translation is totally correct, Petie. I live in Bavaria an we've got many of those more or less "meaningless" phrases that just point out the obvious. They are must some funny filler proverbs used when there is actually nothing more to say, but you want to put an argument in a more ironic context).
As this film is a comedy and death is inevitable for everyone (that's the obvious) one could just say "yes" or reply with 'The sooner you die, the longer you're dead.'

The translation is correct and yes does not make much sense but nor does the title in German (in my opinion). However, the movie was presented in San Francisco's Berlin and Beyond festival 2008 with the name "GRAVE DECISIONS".
