Just saw this movie and I liked it, great atmosphere and direction. Although I am not really sure what it was about. Maybe I didn't get the ending, I was rather tired. I think I have to watch it again. Before I do, what are your ideas?
Was she in the wall all along, watching her life on TV? Or was it all crazy obsession with an urban legend without any deeper meaning behind it?
it has to do with media influence of popular opinion and also the phenomenon of blank celebrity. the woman in the movie does a little rumor report, she shouldn't even register on the radar of things but with todays "celebrity craze" anyone can be famous. think about the scene where the boss at her station is telling her that no one needs the silly report but then she gets the call and it all changes again.
Urban Legends are huge in japan it's on the level of spiritualism.
