I was just wondering. Tails is a guy, right? Because he is played by a girl. I mean, I know that Tails has a somewhat high voice, and not to low. I was thinking that since he's played by a girl, he might sound to much like a girl in a way. What do you guys think about that? It made me curious.
There's a problem with that though, Sega is lazy and they don't wanna keep auditioning and hiring new male child voice talents because the one's they already had voices change. So they figure just hire a woman who's voice won't change, and they can keep her for a long period of time.....with the same salary.
There's just one problem... THEY'RE TOO OLD! P.S. I thought the person who provided Tails voice for this game wasn't too bad since that parson would improve in Sonic Unleashed.
the complaint is> what? Bart Simpson is played by a girl, same with Jimmy Neutron.
Now personally, i dont really like Amy Palants voice as tails, im not going to lie, and no offense to her, but she needs to make Tales a bit more masculine than she is, because hes jsut sounding like a little girl lately... not that William was much better which his always whiny version...
The kid who voiced him in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 did a decent job, but he grew up and they replaced him with a HORRIBLE new voice actor for Sonic Heroes....hate to say it, even this chick who voices him now is better.
Still, I hate Tails's voice now, he does sound like a girl. They really should have gotten Tara Strong to do it.
Almost 95% of young children in both anime and in video games are voiced by females. This is because females can get those key notes, also they are usually older so the voice doesn't split or change. Naruto, Kid Goku, Gohan, Tails, almost ANY child in an american anime dub, and so forth are all done by very talented females.
In Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2, the child they had read for Tails was horrendous. Tails always sounded like he was scriptreading and his voice was annoying. If anything the actor who provided the voice in "Sonic Heroes" came the closest as (yes) they didn't use the same child for all three games. As for Amy Palant and her portrayal, it's not the best but at the very least it's consistant to a degree. Frankly, SEGA had no choice in casting her, the 4Kids actors signed a joint contract when SEGA hired Mike Pollock to replace Bristow.
It was all or nothing, unfortuneately good voice actors like Ryan Drummond were shoved off the production and the 4Kids cast took over. To be honest I don't mind Jason Griffith as Sonic, but Shadow just sounds like an angrier Sonic without the emphasis on the voice being "cool". It's just something we all have to deal with.
Palant was fine (at least in Sonic Unleashed) for Tails. If you got boys to voice Tails, then those boys would have to get replaced later on. If you got women, they could remain for much longer. Think about that.
