During the final scence in the restauraunt, there appeared to be a suggestion of some kind of relationship between the daughter and taxi driver. Am I imagining this or did anyone else see this?

In fact; I thought it was just a bond that Bruno and Julie (daughter) had, when he cures her of her alergies. She probably sees more in him than his dad, and tries to reunite the two. And her dad was probably showing some improvements since he met Bruno. just a thought.
great movie. I was surprise to be moved by this ... comedy.

I think that scene shouldn't be overexamined. It doesn't need to be, and it's just a simple fact and moment in the film. It's clear that the daughter of Francois had set up the meeting of her father and Bruno at the group's favourite restaurant, by phoning/contacting Bruno to let him know that her father will be having a birthday party there. She did it for the sake of getting the two back together again and associating, because she knew so well that due to her father's ways and character, that him making a best friend (Bruno) was a very special and notable thing. It was a revelation and a change for the good.
Meanwhile, she also knew that Bruno was in need of a friend as well. She also knew and saw that the two had complimented each other, but most of all, that Bruno was a very sincere and kind person who was ideal to be best friends with her father, because he had made her father more warm (and helped bring her and her father closer to each other again), and also because of Bruno solving her own health issue. So it is clear that Bruno is well-received and approved by Francois' daughter, and that he is a type of uncle-figure to her now. Of course, this all shows and refers to how important family and a support system is, and that Francois' daughter, and Francois himself, had been lacking family/family members and a support system. It's a great film!
I hope they get together. They would be a cute couple I though the movie was sweet.
