wow war tapes makes americans look *beep* really bad
"we dont care but after all that *beep* we better get the oil"
nice you were there for a year.. the iraqies LIVE THERE *beep* *beep* americans
I just saw it. Its like they take a field trip to iraq and then get all traumatized as only americans can, white collar medical problems... RSI PTSD. And the one guy had the nerve to say "you better not critize the war because you weren't there and *beep* YOU! you dont know what it was like. " These soldiers that come back are going to be the angry depressed highway patrol officer who pulls you over for driving 10 over the limit. I can hear them now "WHAT DO YOU KNOW CIVVY, I WENT TO IRAQ".. yeah good times ahead.
American soldiers cant handle war, even a coushy one. thats what this movie has taught me.
well put. i think you nailed it on every point. it makes me sad to be american. the funny thing is that the same machine that got us into that war is now ratcheting up to get us into Iran....and people are falling for it again! amazing!
I am sure all of the people who have died in Iraq would loved to be told that the war there is only "coushy" and they are just being big pussies for getting killed in such an "easy" war.
first off: who tells dead people anything? second off: no one said the war was "cushy" or that they were pussies for getting killed in an "easy war. those are stupid points to make. did you even read any of the posts?
well, "cushy" isnt really the right word i guess. the people still died, and that does suck (even though its not a surprise). i guess what the poster was trying to say is that its a push button war. not like vietnam or any other (i.e. smart bombs and unmanned drones). the poster just didnt go about it in the right way.
You think American soldiers cant handle war and you call it a cushy one. It seems like your saying you can handle it then right tough guy? Why isn't your punk ass enlisting for a branch of the armed forces?
He's trying to say that in comparison to some of the wars America has fought in the past; this one is a lot easier. Take some of the battles fought during WWII for example; in the strike on Iwo Jima more people were lost in a day than all that have been lost in Iraq so far.
The US has a great upper hand in this war in terms of technology and funding.
That's why I'm getting tired of people saying "Respect me! I went to Iraq!" because first of all, Iraq isn't even a threat to the US, meaning that the US is pretty much pointlessly invading, and two, the threat of losing your life is far less than in previous wars. You attain respect through achievement... not through signing a piece of paper.
Watch the movie Jarhead - it shows you how most modern soldiers spend a lot of time doing nothing at all.
