Comedy cast

Anybody else notice that every single "grownup" in this movie is a comedian or has a comedy background, yet they almost never had any funny lines? I get it that the kids and the aliens are the focus of the movie, but it seems so strange to cast Kevin Nealon, Tim Meadows, Andy Richter, Gillian Vigman, and Doris Roberts in your movie and then not give them anything funny to say. I kept finding myself wanting to laugh when they delivered a line in their trademark styles, only to realize that there was nothing actually funny or ironic about what they just said.

Nealon had a couple OK lines ('adult diapers? Those are some crazy allergies'), but beyond that yeah, kind of a waste of adult comedians. But it's a kids movie. I imagine they shot more with the adults (otherwise why hire famous people), then decided to cut a lot of it to shorten the run time. Just a guess.

Other than that, this was better than expected. Reminded me of small soldiers...
