I have seen much much worse, in major theatres. Lets talk about, Dark Water....Halloween II through(whatever the number they ended with)....Friday the 13th (2 through whatever the number they ended with), Nightmare on Elm Street 2...The Ring 2....The Grudge ALL of THEM!....Girl in the Water....The Haunting (not even close to the original! (Pathetic). Saw II and III.....come on....twisted, no story, just different disgusting ways to kill people. Yuck! All stinkers. This one, though apparently lower budgeted, thus the poor quality special effects at the end, at least had a story, good acting, and an actual plot. Not like those stupid japanese remakes (ooooh...the water is gonna get me!!!! LOL) and slasher/killing films. No gratuitous nudity....good, thats for 7th and 8th grade boys. I liked this film and thought it was better than many I have seen. I watched it two times during the Movies Channel showings.
Normally, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that every movie in your list doesn't even come CLOSE to sucking as bad as this one does. It's been along time since I've seen a movie with dialogue this bad, I'd blame it on the actors- but let's be honest, anyone who talks to themselves in such a dramatic fashion when they're in a room BY THEMSELVES, is going to sound like an idiot regardless of how good an actor they are.

The flying sequences were a total waste, just filler, kind of a spring break gone wrong, the main character wasn't likable, Gary Busey acted like a crazy person. Why in heck was Lilith sort of killed by the stupid medalion that looked like a picture cut out of a magazine. I got a kick out of the necro Coroner van sequence.
