Blood Done Sign My Name

Has anyone seen BDSMY? I have seen it but not Night Catches Us. I find it interesting that they have the same rating on IMDb (considering the subject matter) and they were released (relatively, same year) around the same time. I also have gotten them mixed up at one point but that's neither here nor there. I was just wondering (spoiler free) how they compare? Are they very similar? I'm sure Night Catches Us is more well known, by the way.
