Oh I have no doubt about RZA's skills. I just figured he took part of a loop from a 60's or 70's soul song. Thats incredible if he didnt by capturing that.

Criminology too (though not on 36 it's still a Wu sample).

For all posters on this thread, the first song in the movie (which is repeated a couple more times I believe) is "Hard Times" by The Roots & John Legend (a cover of the Baby Huey classic) off their collab album "Shine". The song at the very end is "How I Got Over" by the Roots off the album of the same name. And the other songs are cover songs of those soul classics (except for the actual "Is It Because I'm Black" by Syl Johnson) by the Roots, which, and as weird as this sounds, can actually be found on something called "Enter the 37th Chamber" by a group called El Michaels Affair. They won't sound exactly the same since it's not the Roots, but it's as close as you're gonna get to the actual soundtrack I'd say.

Ok, I know all of the posters here must be in their early twenties or younger. I'm 38 and my mother played a lot of the songs the roots were doing interpretations of. As good as RZA is, he was not the original artist of any of the songs mentioned on this thread. buckshottheone is completely right about the songs mentioned. Let me also add As Long As I've Got You by the Charmels that the C.R.E.A.M sample was taken from. Here's the youtube link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wylfBQjL8I

Also, even though Hard Times is originally by Baby Huey, I think more people know the Curtis Mayfield version- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvSfeanNFIM
