help with a quote from the movie!

I've become a fan of Hunter Thompson. I defenetly want to know more about the man, I been told by many people that he is or was weird! Whatever, how much do they know...not a whole lot! when asked all I get is "Oh, he is that guy that wrote about the hells angles." or, "Yeah, didn't Johnny Depp do a movie about that guy?" I don't remember the whole quote, it wasn't read by Thompson, and I know it had his feelings about todays youth in America and it ends something like "Yours truely, The Hypocrite."

Hi there,
The quote you're referring to is taken from an essay that hunter wrote at the age of seventeen, entitled 'open letter to the youth of our nation'. Here's the excerpt from this which they quoted in the film, but the actual letter is about 3 times the length.

'Young people of america, awake from your slumber of indolence and harken to the call of the future! Do you realize that you are rapidly becomming a doomed generation? Do you realize that the fate of the world and of generations to come rests on your shoulders?...Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come for you to dispense with the frivalent pleasures of childhood and get down to honest toil until you are sixty-five. Then and only then can you relax and collect your social security and live happily until the time of your death.'
Fearfully and disgustingly yours,
John J. Rightous-Hypocrite.
