"Awkward Moments off Your Life."

"Buy your kid a *beep* stick"

"What about that time you were caught in your dad's study jerking off to a Map of Scotland?"

I think this program is the *beep* *beep* The guy who plays Bob Fossil in the Mighty Boosh, is so much funnier in this. *beep*

The hangings are great and I loved the russian roulette bit at the start of episode 2, "hey look... blood money."

The bit that I had to watch over and over though was that effed up guitar lessons segment. "As you can see, all of my fingers are on a string" :D

reply

my fave bits are the baby rap and everytime Matt sings... episode 2 is my fave so far.

oo the theme aswell.

i also feel sorry for him everytime he gets beat up but i cant help but laugh, bless him

reply

I think the funniest bits are when he's coming on to women and is really charming and smarmy, until he finds out they have a boyfriend.

reply

Yeah the boyfriend bits are great, and the adverts are always good.

In fact, pretty much the whole 30 mins each week has been great!!

Its genius.

A reeves and mortimer for the 2000's

reply

Whenever THAT song is sung.
When in the shop, Matt goes to land a punch and falls across the table and says 'sh*t'....lol
When Rich kept ruining the punchlines of Matt's jokes and you hear Matt's thoughts- 'he is dead...oh he is dead...' etc...pmsl

reply

I think it's well up there with some of the best recent comedies. Rich is a genius and all Matt has to do is say something like 'Cruel and Un-use-ual' in that ridiculous 70s voice and I'm wetting myself.

Genius, inspired comedy.

reply

It should be funnier IMHO. Have you noticed that the stuff they do separately is usually more out-loud funny than the double-act stuff?
It's as if, when they're together, they're afraid of stepping on each other's comedy toes or something. Fulcher is untouchable when doing his man/child idiot swearing thing. Likewise Berry has no equal when it comes to self-involved, 70's man-about-town shenanigans; but they don't seem to really cut loose very often.
They'd have been better off doing a proper, actual, sketch show.

I agree totally, they are definately funnier seperately. I don't blame them for not going down the typical sketch show route though. With the glut of sketch shows following in the wake of Little Britain, Some good, some average and some astonishingly bad (tittybangbang anyone?) it's refreshing to see someone try something a little different. Personally, i doff my cap to them.

I'm sooooo glad to see that other people are loving this show as much as I am, I've been hooked from the first episode and haven't laughed out loud so much for such a long time!

Matt Berry has the most amazing voice! Ahem, but back to the topic, it's hard to pick a favourite bit so I'll pick the first bit that comes to mind - Matt shooting Rich in the hands for reading out his diary!! Love it! But there is so much that I laugh at it's impossible to pick one bit. I hope they do another series!!

My favourite bit is hands down the little
*beep* "Sh**!" "Horse-p***!" "Son of a two-balled b***h!" *beep* song.

Really? Worst film you ever saw? Well, my next one will be better. Hello? Hello?

reply

The best bit now is the scene with Matt out on a date and Rich walking past.

'Hey dont i know'
'no i dont think so'
'we played squash together'
'no we didnt'
'oh i remember, you raped me, twice, then you took me outside and said third time lucky, you only stopped to take a swig of whisky'

It was more in depth than that but thats all i can remember, had me in tears tho.

PMSL!!!!

The guitar bit for sure and the rap bit was also funny. I for one actually enjoy the scenes where theyre together, thats where the storyline evolves.

Also i love when Rich goes back in time and tells Matts great grandfather about the thing that happened at the blue lepard and the grandfather says "Yes, i know it". Not bronze, pure gold!

reply

Ive only seen 2 eps... But I saw a clip with Alice Lowe about David Bowie... Matt's point at Rich is one of the best points in the world... and Rich's rant is great... "where do you get off lady?... GOD DAMNIT!!!!!" his shaking when he said goddamnit is amazing...

I've found myself breaking into the Baby Rap alot recently. It's probably for the best that I'm the only person in Melbourne to have seen it.

reply

Yeah...I've got them all on tape...

I've seen Richard Ayode make a cameo or two...

...I think Noel Fielding MAY be in the next one as Adam Ant (it looks like him!)

Most swearing in a show? Could be...bring it on!

Ive been breaking into the intro song "You thought it was gold but it was bronze" lately...

'I killed my first dog today. Does this mean I'm becoming a serial killer?'

Awesome.

When they get put on the spot to do commentary for a golf match. Rich's hair is all messed up and he looks confused and Matt is just staring at the ground. haha.

When Rich is talking about his cute dog and describing how "one ear goes up like this and the other one flops down like this, and his paws are like this.." and then Matt tells Rich his neighbor killed it with his car.

and most of Rich's swearing.
"This sucks like a ****ing suckity ****!"

The scene where Rich f*@ks the teddy bear. I laughed so hard, I entered a world of pain.

Runner up goes to -"my boyfriend says-" *kick* -"F*@K YOU"

reply

-Matt: What's up with you? You look like a dog with two dicks.
Rich: Is that good?
Matt: Very good.

-Rich (reading Matt's diary): May 5th - I think I'm a werewolf.

-The look on Matt's face as Rich reads his diary, and the song and dance number that follows. I love how Matt turns all ghoulish towards the end of the song.

-Rich: It's a fvcking jukebox.

-Rich: I joke about fake vomit and whipped cream! I don't joke about this right here.

-Matt: WHISKEY!

-Matt: F@#K YOU!

-Matt: That sounds like Elton John. I was told he was in hospital, dicky ticker. Huuuuuuh!
Rich: Well, I'll tick his fvcking licker if he doesn't have a good excuse for being in our rehearsal room.
Matt: Too right.

I could go on until I described every bit from the show, but I'll stop for now.

Loving all the aforementioned parts plus...

Matt reading the joke from the newspaper "That's a bit strong for The Guardian" - not sure why but that gets me every time.

Matt at the art gallery - the faces he pulls are just great.

The old lady at the police line-up, "That's the *beep* Makes me laugh more because when the other time the C-word is used it's beeped out. Talking of the other time... when Matt tells Rich to check out the girl and Rich turns and looks at the wall.

Rich eating a scotch egg (of all things) while he watches his date getting attacked. In fact all the dumb-ass clueless moments that Rich has (like getting swindled while playing darts and snooker etc)

Matt's brother on Whistle Test - the outtakes of Richard and Matt trying to do the scene is hilarious too.

There are many many more favourite moments... I love the show!
