Does anyone miss waking up on Saturday morning?

This may not be exclusive to Legion, but I think it's only proper that I post it here.

Let me start off by saying I'm currently twenty years old. For someone my age to be waking up on Saturday morning to watch cartoons may seem a bit odd, but I had been doing so since the age of three. Fox Kids, ABC One Satruday Morning, CBS Kids, and Kids WB especially were like salvation from the world of homework and school. It was like a day where all of your favorire things would collide. You had cartoons, live action sitcoms (The few that there were), and game shows. Hell, sometimes I'd even wake up at seven and decide which of the syndicated shows to watch before the actual line ups started.

That being said, Legion was the last look at my childhood for me. It had everything I wanted from a show. Action, character development, comedy, drama. I grew quite fond of the characters and saying that about a cartoon at my age isn't easy. I even felt a little chocked up by the end, knowing that it wouldn't come by and that a chapter in my life had ended. Think what you will, but shows do grow on you. They're a temporary escape before you set off on your daily adventures. There was also a sense of reward for making it through the week to watch this stuff.

Now, all kids have left is 4Kids, which is just...yeah, I don' even know. It's sad to say the cartoons on that block are complete and utter TRASH. While I had Nickelodeon as a kid, it wasn't always playing cartoons (Like Nicktoons or Toon Disney). So you had to wait till the weekend to watch. It's like instant gratification. It's kinda sad.

I do hope one day that there will be a renewed interest in Saturday Morning, but until then, I'm closing this book.

I work and stay up late so I sleep in whenever I can. I just wait for the DVD if its something I really want to see.

I feel your pain, Timmy! I'm on the verge of turning 51 and I remember those really great Saturday morning cartoons from the Sixties, Seventies, and Eighties. I also remember cool toy commercials ("Ooh, Ma, I want THAT!"). Now most of the cartoons are on cable channels and just don't have the cleverness of the shows from the past. At least not all of them are based off of action figures and dolls like about 10 years ago. I feel sorry for the kids of today.

The cartoons you mentioned don't air on Saturday mornings. Also, not everyone can afford cable/satellite TV. The last two seasons of "Superfriends" were quite good with Darkseid as the main villain and the Seventies Batman cartoon is about equal to "Batman: The Brave And The Bold".
