Mon-El or Superman X

When Season 2 began and I saw this "Superman X" character that they had introduced I didn't know what to think. Knowing the "Legion of Superheroes" comics, I was hoping to see the introduction of Mon-El and/or Kon-El...both of which have been Legion members. I DID, however, become used to Kell-El, aka Superman X and found him to be an acceptable replacement for both characters.

Actually the creators of the show used both Mon-El and Kon-El as inspiration for the Kell-El character.

Kell-El is a clone of Superman, Kell-El's hair and costume is similar to the second costume Kon-El wore when he was in Young Justice (as well as to the costume worn by the Eradicator immediately following "The Death of Superman"), and Superman chose Kell-El's name as he did for Kon-El.

OK, I get all of that. What I don't understand is, what inspiration did they take from Mon-El? From what I have noticed, his only similarity to Mon-El is that they are both immune to Kryptonite. Am I missing something?

reply

Should've just been Mon-El. A legion with TWO Supermans is silly.
