SOAPIE star turned singer Natalie Imbruglia will fly home later this year for her feature film debut.

Natalie will play the lead role in Elise, about a woman haunted by her sister's disappearance 20 years earlier.
Like the novel upon which it's based - Closed for Winter by Georgia Blain - Elise will be set in Adelaide.

Filming on the $2.4 million project will start in SA later this year - it's believed either late September or early October.
