Rule Breaker?

Alright, I know how Caster's Noble Phantasm is used in the game and what it can do, but what did it exactly do in the anime? It is stated that it has the ability to negate sorcery and such, as is how it works in the game, but the actual affect it has on Saber in the anime is worlds different. Well actually that's the problem, I'm not sure what it even did to Saber. It seemed to have no affect on her at all.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Did I miss something? Plot hole?

Apparently it stops her using her Noble Phantasm, Excalibur. She spacifically says that Saber 'cannot use the holy sword'.

I'll bring destruction on you all........after my nap.

I gather because she used Sakura to deliver the strike, it didn't have the full power to completely annul the Master/Servant contract. She might've been able to do it if she took the opportunity to use it on her in person, but Caster's a squishy mage next to Tohsaka's kung-fu, and she knows she's even squishier next to a top swordsman like Saber, so she probably wouldn't take the risk.
