GOOD MOVIE

THis is the spirit in which Hostel should have been made. lots and lots of torture. THecreepy thing is you never really know how many people are held captive and how many are killers. The spider guys was over the top a bit, but if thei smovie had decent actors and better budget, i say it would kick hostels butt. I was entertained the whole time. Isnt that a good movie?

"Isnt that a good movie?"

No.

It's quite obvious that you either made the movie or know the people that made it and are part of the group that is attempting to inflate the iMDB rating of this movie and are leaving rave reviews.

This movie is just not good. There is no comparison to Hostel. None. The "torture" in this movie is minimal and rarely shown on-screen.

You never know how many people are held captive and how many are killers? It was quite obvious who was who throughout the entire movie.

A decent budget and better actors would NOT have helped this movie. There are plenty of great movies made on next to nothing budgets and non-actors (Evil Dead anyone?). The problem with this movie is bad writing, bad direction, and the fact that this story has been told a million times before. If someone wants to do this type of movie, they need to add a new twist to it if they want people to watch it.

Blood Ranch isn't even "so bad it's good". I'd love to say something nice about it. I really would. Whoever made this movie no doubt put a lot of time and effort into it, and they made a movie and got it released - that's more than I've ever done, so kudos to them for that. I hate to sit here and trash a small independant movie because this is likely someone's "baby". But seriously, the movie just sucks.

Sorry to say, I am not part of the people that made the movie, nor did I take the time to leave a rating. I am but a printer parts salesman in Salt Lake City. I understand your point about inflated ratings. My problem with Hostel was it was 30 minutes of soft core and 2 tortures. Eli Roth did a better job with Cabin Fever. Maybe Blood Ranch was made more in the spirit of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, more part2 than part1. Anyways, I liked it. The part with the girls beating up the 2 guys was pretty lame, but I did dig the standoff between the 2 rednecks and the guy and the girl who stayed with the car.

Good grief. The people that keep comparing the nudity in Hostel to soft core, have you guys actually seen soft core? Is Hostel the first horror movie you've seen that has nudity and sex? Seriously, there are many horror films out there that have far more nudity than Hostel. I swear, every other complaint for Hostel- "The first half was porn." "The first part was soft core." I'm not entirely convinced that these same people making the complaints would probably not make them if Hostel was done by someone else other than Eli Roth.

No pulse, no heartbeat. If condition does not change, this man is dead.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Well, I liked this movie too. I saw it the other night on Zone Horror on the tv and, while it has its faults, was overall quite an entertaining 90 mins, especially the standoff between 2 of the would be captors and the two in the truck.

This Movie is like every other piece of crap low budget torture-porn released since Hostel. Sick and Scary are two different things cutting people up is not scary, misogynistic violence is not scary. The only thing frightening is that the makers of this film (and their friends) appear to have flooded the reviews with undue praise not unlike the pathetic marketers at The Asylum.I read that some people are calling this a "comedy horror" but that is just the battle cry of directors who lack the ability to make a shoe-string budget produce anything other than bad scripts, bad effects and bad acting. Once again thats a mistake this movie is laughable but that is different from being comedy.

Oh and were not stupid Every person who gave this full stars appears to have joined IMDB only to praise this. 10 stars? really? It reminds me of Bart faking his report card to go to Camp Krusty. In the words of Homer Simpson "A D turns into B so easy, you just got greedy"

Holy Christ, are you really saying this is a better movie than 'Hostel'? Listen, we really appreciate you being a key grip or best boy or whatever convoluted credit they gave you for throwing your lunch money into making this piece of kangaroo crap, but this movie is a joke. Grazing a girl's leg with a knife and then throwing a piece of lunch meat at the wall doesn't really sell the torture for me. I was laughing my balls off all the way through the "torture" scenes because they were so badly done. The guy who made this thing isn't fit to clean Eli Roth's bathroom.

The worst part is that this isn't even the first movie he directed. You can't even say "Well, it was his first movie so...". It was his FIFTH movie. He directed 4 movies before this, and he's directed more since then. My guess is that his dad has a lot of money he doesn't mind throwing away on his talentless son. That's really the only conclusion that can be drawn here. Either that or he gives REALLY good head. Probably a bit of both.
