I thought this movie was just as good as Lake Placid. Yes it is about the same subject but it also added a bit of political drama in there and gave just enough gator, but not too much to where it was ridiculous. It was also nice to see some decent actors in a sci-fi flick as of late. I don't believe this movie deserved the rating it has so far.

shareI watched this movie on DVD recently and I have to say that, in my opinion, it was not as good as "Lake Placid at all. It really wasn't that great at all not that "Lake Placid" was an award winner because...well...it wasn't(Check the info on IMDB.). But, not only did "Lake Placid" have better acting...it had BETTER ACTORS. Oliver Platt, Bridget Fonda, Betty White...I mean..come on...it had Brendan Gleeson. Not that these actors are at the top of the list but, they are all more seasoned actors than the ones in "Primeval" which I think attribute to "Lake Placid" being a better movie. It did get much too wrapped up in the political corruption to be a croc movie.
