Pre-coma, he seemed like a normal, kind-of-cool kid. But post-coma, he was mentally handicapped... and not just at first, he acted that way for the entire movie. I thought the premise was that he was still going to be acting his age when he got out of the coma, but he doesn't act at all like the kid we saw in the opening flashback. He acts (and sorry for using this term) retarded.

shareI disagree. When I was 12 (and older), I still went to Chuck E Cheese. All the way up until the "grown-up" arcades like Dave and Busters and GameWorks were invented. Also, I never even kissed a girl (much less touched a boob) until I was 25. I wasn't even interested in girls at 12. I was super shy and never even talked to girls at all in school when I was interested. So yeah, I acted just like him. I still kinda act like that and I'm 32.
