Sex

I watched this at the Angelika in Dallas. I am really glad that the director, Brett was there, otherwise I would be thinking about this forever.

I totally noticed a very prominent sexual undertone. Masturbation, pedophelia, rape, seduction...

So I asked Brett "What exactly was she doing in the beginning?"

I was so surprised that HE was so surprised that I asked. Haha! I'm not the kind of person who just assumes "SEX!". I always have to ask "Are they doing what I THINK they're doing??". I try to stay innocent. :3

And I just thought "maybe I'm getting this sexual vibe because I'm just really... kinky?" but I'm not crazy. It was there. And I love that because when there is sex, but its so... hidden but noticable, it makes everything juicier.

Burnsker,
I'm the screenwriter and one of Brett's partners on the film, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the film and Brett's comments at the Dallas screening. We did indeed set out to create sexual undertones to the story. The idea was to establish Danielle's sexual desires as innocent in the bathtub scene, and contrast that scene with her violent, perverted desires after Crowe, the child killer, possessed her. Again, thanks for attending the screening, and tell your friends that the DVD is out May 27 in the US.
Cheers,
Michael
