Did the older daughter know?
She has a whole lot of clues...do you think she knew or not?
I think she might have feared it but desperately hoped it wasn't true until it was confirmed. I'm not sure though, maybe she genuinely didn't think of it.
I think that she had a strong suspicion (particularly when she realizes her father is lying about talking to her teacher on the phone) but couldn't quite get herself to believe it.
shareAgreed. She also knew something was wrong when she called home and listened to her father's messages on the answering machine. She didn't know her mother was dead, judging by the last scene, but she knew something was going on that her father wasn't telling her.
