Depressed

So this movie is just about a man whose wife is killed and him not being able to tell his kids about it until the end and then they cry? I found it really depressing and frankly stressful to watch because you feel this horrible heaviness over everything that happens in the film and thats all you get in the end. The escape doesnt work for the audience, especially as the older daughter really begins to suspect something is terribly wrong. And thats all the movie is. Theres no redemption. Theres no real story told. And the journey isnt a process toward an acceptance or toward a broader meaning like it should have been. It was just empty escape and denial. Just a heart broken husband and kids dealing with the worst news they could ever hear. I found it painful without reward...

Thank you for this post. I was considering watching the movie, but I don't think I will. I live with chronic clinical depression, and usually avoid sad movies unless there is a reason for showing the sadness other than just sadness alone. I came here to find out if this was a movie I could watch. I think I'll pass.
