Hey! That's Malcom Reynolds' pistol!!!

I was looking at pictures for this movie randomly and I saw the picture of Elias Koteas holding a pistol and I immediately noticed the pistol is the exact same one used by Mal Reynolds in the tv show Firefly!

I wonder if the director is a fan of the show or something? Still a cool little refrence to Firefly.

Awesome easter egg you discovered, but it's really sad. Not only is the studio cheap, they raped and pillaged Firefly and here they are scattering the bones. Firefly was one of the most epic and mistreated show ever. There's a comic now, and I feel that there my beloved characters are safe from the slings and arrows of man's ingratitude.
