Release date?

Anyone know if this is going to be released into theaters? Or if this will have a soundtrack? I love that Bijou Phillips tune, "Let's be nice some more."

So, I'm replying to my own post. How sad is that? Does anyone connected to this film have any updates on when this is going to be released either into theaters or on DVD?

Hi:

I was in this thing which was filming early last year and its still in post???? Sounds like the money ran out.

My bet is that it won't get released, or if it does, it will be only in Europe and/or straight to DVD.

Visually gorgeous, but I didn't see any acting going on at all.

I'm curious to see the final product, actually.

Take care -
Diana

I hope it goes straight to DVD. It's a poorly made film. I saw a preview a few months ago. Just one of those films where the director tried too hard to infuse all the elements of film noir but it was done so poorly that it's rather a nod to filmakers to are more in it for the money and not the art. First of all, this is one of those films where the soundtrack is better than the film. The acting was mostly stiff, and it is hard to connect with the main character, who just seems to be a self absorbed jazz club owner who's down on his luck. Gabriel Mann is just not ready to carry a movie as the main character. On paper, the premise and elements sound great. On film, the execution is more of an execution of the audience. Yeah, it was that horrible, and perhaps enough revisions can save it from its messy script, but that would have to be an entirely different movie, because that's how many things need fixing.

I worked stunts, weapons and FX on this film and I for one would love to see it released... if anyone knows anything... please let me know. [email protected]

I loved the film. The story is not the point of the film - its a routine noir 'mystery' added on to the music and mood piece that is the heart of the movie. Aside from the male lead, the acting is OK - not great. If you're interested only in story and great acting, this isn't your movie. If you want to go the to the theatre and have a great time (without explosions, a lot of gunplay, and car chases) then I recommend Dark Streets.
The director indicated that she hoped it would be picked up for distribution, that there were some talks, that maybe late this year it might get a release. Hope is what drives independent filmmakers to do what they do, and I hope that her's is rewarded.

Sorry that I am just now saying this but this movie never came to theaters or at the very least went to theaters that were well way out of state. The movie has been on dvd for about 2 or 3 years now if you want to see it.
