Soundtrack?

I loved the music in this film. I recognized a few songs...most notably the M83 one. Does anyone know where a listing of the soundtrack is? There's one song in particular that I need to find!

reply

Do you know the name of the M83 song? I'm sorry I can't help, but I'm also looking for a soundtrack listing - especially the last song (credits) and the song in the trailer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

M83 - I guess I am floating. (Before the Dawn Heals Us - CD)

I found out about M83 via IRC - downloaded it upon the basis of the chat on IRC. Thought the music awesome and proceeded to buy the CD's. I pretty much rarely buy CD's but if the music super good, then I want to own it. I was stoked when I recognised the song kicking in. The theme to this is wonderment at how we find music we like and at least for me, it's not through the usual commericial outlets.

Check out Boards of Canada for some cool vibe sounds. A bit of digging is required as they are a bit hit and miss and not as consistently flavour as M83. I came across really nice tune youtubing - check it: Sufjan Stevens - concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland. You may like the sweetness of that track.

Movie - I checked it out because Parker Posey is in it. The movie as a sum makes up for the bits where you wished the Julien character would piss off and take his schtick elsewhere. But Nora's journey (yeah cliche word) makes it all worthwhile in the end. So even if Julien is a bit of a tosser, he also has redeeming qualities and if he can make Nora happy, well all the best. Dial up a thousand watt Nora/Parker smile and you'd think you passed the gates through to Nirvana. Not a bad flick at all. Forget your doubts that a Parker of this world would ever be 'desperate' - you will hopefully become so immersed in the movie to put that annoying thought aside.

One comment on some of the wardrobe choices made for Parker. WTF was up with the Mu Mu? It's not Bohemian it's aisle 1 special on bad fashion choice. (was that consistent with the character?) What nut bag invented the Mu Mu? It's the Western equivalent to a burqua.

So that's my all in one observation of the movie. Good tunes, music discovery, BOC yeah!?, movie good, Parker dial a watt smile = double plus good, Mu mu = no no.

I'm having a hard time finding scratch massive music. But that's what I'm looking for, I loved the music in this!

Thanks for the help!

Scratch Massive did the sountrack.
Their MySpace page is at
http://www.myspace.com/scratchmassivegroup
which dominoes headlong into Zoe's site and then respectively Broken English site.

I also searched Amazon for a soundtrack to on avail.

Beach Girl - Awesome! Thanks. . .ok, now the question. . .where to find it? - the scratch massive version. Anyone have any luck?

reply

Thats what I've been looking for too. . .that last song on the ending credits. . .anyone know? Thanks!

I've been searching for the soundtrack since the second I stepped out of the theater. Seriously.

I just TODAY found it on iTunes. It is all of the Scratch Massive tunes including the opening credits/Parker getting dressed scene song, the gorgeous atomspheric song when Nora leaves her hotel after her run in with the "actor," and the fabulous song from the scene on the train during that tantalizing "will she or won't she?" moment. Love it.

Ahhhh the Pharcyde song is the one I wanted, but I didn't know how to describe it or remember the scene it was in! Thank you so much!

Don't forget the Pharcyde song Passing Me By. It's playing on the stereo when they're in the cab in France. Man that song brings back memories..... skateboarding back in the early 90's, K-Swiss shoes, baggy jeans, and getting chased by the cops.... those were the days.

What about the song that's playing when they're sitting in the cafe with the half-dozen cannolis... right at the beginning when it cuts to Julian sitting there? I can't quite figure out what song that is. Help?!

As for Scratch Massive, they're stuff is on Amazon. The songs I do know that are in the movie are "Soleil Noir" and "Dance" from their TIME album and "Seeing is Believing" from ENEMY AND LOVERS.
