Tribute At The Oscars

Anyone notice that Aaron Russo was not in the tribute to all of the people that passed away in the last year at the Academy Awards. They had people from just about every field in the business in that tribute; from Stunt people to Executives.

I don’t think that it was a mistake.

WOW, I didn't even notice or think about that. I don't think this was a mistake or oversight, unless before his death he specifically asked to not be recognized by this group.

I remember a few years ago the complete SILENCE when the Academy recognized the recent passing of LENI RIEFENSTAHL! They REMEMBER her, but forget Aaron Russo? His body of work is not extensive, but did include a huge hit and a critically acclaimed movie. The list did seem a little bit shorter this year than I've seen in years past, and the show didn't run long like it usually does.

Maybe they came up with new guidelines? A lot of those people I've never heard of, and to be honest, if it wasn't for this movie, I wouldn't know who Aaron Russo was either. But still, it smells fishy!

Let Russo rot in hell with Hitler and other kooks.
He only directed two incredibly bad movies, the other is Rude Awakening (3.4/10).

Yes, it was kind of odd. I mean Russo was one of the original people behind Bette Midler and he helped Produce "Trading Places". The Oscars had Al Gore come to the stage, yet wouldnt give a tribute to Russo?

They know what side their bread is buttered on.
