Why only one season and 6 episodes?

I personally think a lot of the viewing public don't know how to appreciate intelligent scifi and somewhat out-of-the-box storytelling in general. Especially in the mid-2000s, where a lot of the shows on TV were trash.

Masters of Science Fiction was extremely intelligent. Especially 'The Discarded' and 'A Clean Escape'. Brilliant storytelling and performances. I think a significant chunk of the American audience is dumbed-down and shows that don't pander to the tastes of certain demographics don't do well in general.

Low production values, tier 2 actors chewing up the scenery, badly written dialogue......I think I know why.

This was just a limited-edition miniseries type of show.

Because it was a miniseries.
