This is it!! After 9 seasons and 147 episodes, The GAME has come to an end. What are your thoughts on the series finale?

Thanks for taking this journey and making history with us!

The reunion of the ladies was good - forgot how good the chemistry was between them

Did anyone catch the line where Chardonnay was like who can handle a DUI and murder charge in one night? ☕️

To be honest, I thought the writing was rather lazy. As a fan of the show since it first aired as a spinoff of Girlfriends, I was very disappointed and felt that the finale did the show no justice, whatsoever. After 9 seasons, 2 different networks and the hype surrounding the show's 2011 return, I expected more of a bang or at least a serendipitous conclusion. It was as if the writer's, themselves, had gotten bored with this final season and just put some stuff together at the last minute. Sorry, just being honest.

Negativity, makes me know I am the only #1 fan. Loved this show from day one, gonna miss it dearly. No disappointment here. I would not have missed taking this journey for nothing in the world.

I think this is the first time I watched a show I love end without shedding a tear.

Malik's ending made sense for me. He is too immature for anything except the party/football lifestyle.

Keira - who cares?
Blue - does anyone really care?

Tasha - glad she had a semi happy ending

Derwin and Melanie - damn, it was good to see them. They were always the stars of the show for me. Kelly and Tasha talking *beep* on Janay cracked me up. Sunbeams forever!

Kelly/Jason - creepy. They really will do anything for money.

I guess i am just relieved that it is over. I won't be watching reruns.

Here is my point of view. Overall I felt the finale was fair - I give it a 6/10 -- mainly because of the Malik ending - I mean 9 years he has been on the show without pause -- he should have had a happier ending. I've loved many shows in the past, including A Different World, Living Single, Soul Food etc...their finales were so on point -- especially Soul Food - they found a way to bring in realism and fantasy and make it work --- Terri on Soul Food actually initially turned down Damon's proposal on the series finale - but they ended up together in the end -- the writers may not agree -- BUT people LOVE happy endings forget this realism stuff... there is realism for life and their is realism for TV life - with that Keira should have ultimately chosen Malik and they - again in my opinion -- so I mean -- this is just discussion lol - should have written Malik to be a little more likable and lovable in the end for that to happen. With the mentioned above shows -- I boo hooed on their finales. I didn't do that with The Game - some may have -- but I didn't. Having said that I am still a fan. I love The Game. I respect the writers - they had a tough job with limited episodes -- people leaving -- new characters -- new network -- etc. Mara Brock Akil is a genius! A boss! I will support everything she does!

In my opinion with Season 9 - looking at it overall and with the finale - it was a bit choppy. First issue, there were too many filler episodes. The outline in my opinion should have been episodes 1-2 being the Kiss Fall Out /The Spin-- which they did -- cool. But after that instead of the filler episode of the father dying and Malik not being able to read-- Episodes 3-4 should have been Keira and Blue discussing why their relationship did not work - boom! resolution solved -- no longer need to explore it later (they never had that convo -- very unrealistic), Chardonnay exploring dating (so we could better understand her struggle) and then ending up with Baby Rodger up until the end because she still loves Jason. 3-4 would of course still have Malik chasing Keira and then by episode 4, them connecting.

Episodes 5-6 could have been Malik/Keira relationship focused, Jason coach focused with the fall out from the owner's comments etc. Episode 7 -- the best of episode was so not necessary -- that episode could have been the beginning of issues for Malik/Keira ending with a break up by episode 8 instead of episode 9. Also for episode 8 could then be Jason dealing with Herbie (which happened) and Chardonnay breaking up with Rodger and Tasha dealing with her issues of being a single mother (which was not explored fully - this would have tied in the finale a little better with Pookie forgiving her) and Blue dating other women or his activism etc just to show more of his life after Keira.

Episode 9 would be Keira "loving herself" and going on auditions, landing roles etc, episode 9 would have also been the championship game with Malik etc helping them win -- but he realizes he misses Keira. Episode 10 then would be all of the characters resolving their issues, with Keira ultimately ending up with Malik...with that we would have seen her find herself but find love also in the end. Many shows and even films have gone this route - one example -- Boomerang with Eddie Murphy (similar to Malik -- playboy etc) falls in love with his best friend - Halle's character - her character also once dated the friend of Eddie's character (similar story right?lol) - he breaks her heart - she moves on - focuses on her career --- he gets her back in the end reminding her that a career is cool, but a career with love is cooler. The director of that film actually wrapped the film, Eddie had already started filming another movie -- but they came back to film a happy ending for the Eddie and Halle character --- that is how important happy endings are!

Chardonnay should have had -- as stated -- at least a montage of her being successful in business - I actually think the "loving yourself" story fit her more than the Keira character. Pookie and Tasha were cool -- that's a perfect ending for Tasha. Jason and Kelly were funny and cool - a bit controversial - but they still had a happy ending. They could have ended with a montage of Blue training or something to show he is career focused or him doing something with his activism. The Merwin ending was perfect -- clearly that was the focus of the writers. But if I really had my way Episode 10 would have been the resolutions yes -- but ending with Malik's retirement party with Merwin in attendance seeing everyone, Keira and him in attendance having reconciled (they could have still included him funding her movie but her rejecting that because she is her own woman etc) - but yep them reconciling at the first half of episode 10 and him proposing to her at the second half of episode 10 at his retirement with EVERYONE in attendance and a last pic of the entire cast doing what they do -- laughing -- joking -- shading etc and then taking a "photo together" at the event -- that would have brought tears - and then kick in the montage for the very end -- as they did -- with Merwin and the others as they were BUT with a few changes of course -- again the happy ending for Malik (maybe in the montage him and Keira getting married -- they could have even done it Vegas style -- that's very Malik) and of course including the addition of Chardonnay - she should have been the one being interviewed about her Spa...and her being the next Oprah -- which she stated in a previous episode.

Yeah I think they should have built up to the finale throughout the season since they could have done that, it wasn't like one of those shows who was told at the last minute the show wasn't returning and they had to rush a finale, which is what this episode seemed like.

I understood Keira's ending in the beginning since her career really hadn't gotten off the ground yet and if she would have taken up on Malik's offer it would have been like she gotten her big franchise career because of him but yeah I can see if they did a time jump thing, like what they did with the montage in the end where they did end up together years later. Everyone's happy ending isn't ending up with someone though especially if that person is supposed to be a famous actress, since for the most part (and yes I know there are a few expectations) don't end up happily married until after they have slowed down or completely retired especially if they marry someone else who is famous. I'm disappointed that there was no Chardonnay ending, if they gave Kiera who came around the same time one, they could have given her one. Jason and Kelly's ending was pretty much like WTH?!
