Better Than The Inifinity Saga

I have Spoken

reply

It's not, but it is a very underrated film.

reply

it is Zack Snyder out directs The Russos every time also The Russos are making excuses for there stupid plot holes

reply

Ok. You are right and the rest of the movie fans are wrong, evidently.

reply

None Snyder movies come close to the Russo bros

reply

Depends who you're asking. I was dead bored during Infinity War, but constantly entertained by 300. Neither would I consider to be particularly "deep", with 300 having some platitudes about honour, glory, and liberty, and Infinity War asking the question, "Are there necessary sacrifices to preserve the world?", but neither go super deep with those themes.

(SPOILERS)

I will say this much, though: 300 and Infinity War both kill off a lot of heroes, but in 300 they ain't comin' back. So when people make the argument that Infinity War "let the good guys lose", it's always been a bit of a chuckle to me. The story ain't over yet. That would be like saying The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe lets the good guys lose because the White Witch ritually kills Aslan. Keep reading, boyo.

None of snyders movies come close to russos

...work on Community? Sure. I love that show.

reply

It's a great film so yes.

None of the Marvel Avengers films are bad but ultimately they're kind of empty popcorn flicks. Whereas this film had a lot of soul / substance and serves as a quality modern day retelling of the origin story.

Bizarre really, I remember being very strongly against this film when I first heard about it / saw the trailers but now I rank it very highly.

reply

"a lot of soul and substance" Dude your taking about a movie were Pa Kent tell Clark its o.k. to let Children drown in a bus. Its about as deep as a puddle. Have you seen Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's list lately.

reply

Amazing! What are the odds?

I literally just posted a reply re Pa Kent in one of the other threads...

reply

He didn't. The "maybe" line was to mean to portray moral confusion. Learn to pay attention to sub-text.

reply

Literally saying "maybe" isn't subtext; it's text.

Subtext is that Jonathan Kent is worried about what will happen to his son if they find out he's different and crazy-powerful, so he's conflicted with what to tell Clark about how to live: he doesn't want Clark to have a bad life or feel lonely or something worse.

reply

Literal text would have been "yeah son, absolutely, drown the little bastards." "Maybe" is what someone says when they're confused. And what you described is exactly what John was trying to impart to his kid.

reply

But if it’s subtext then why.. later on .. does he tell his son to let him die to protect his identity?

reply

OH,I SEE... YOUVE ALWAYS BEEN A CONTRARIAN TROLL....GOOD TO KNOW.
