Worst David S. Goyer franchise killer? Terminator or Superman?

Which iconic movie franchise/character did David S. Goyer ruin more?

Terminator or Superman?

Discuss.

Probably Superman.

Superman.

Isn't Blade Trinity in this?

Superman has the four Christopher Reeves films, Superman Returns, and Man of Steel, (before the team-up movies) but four of those aren't good already. Terminator, likewise, was more-or-less DOA from T3 onwards. Whereas the Blade series had two successful films and was on an upward trajectory before the third film. Granted, he also built the franchise, but Blade: Trinity is still a pretty big franchise-slayer.

Goyer wrote all three Blade movies or at least co-wrote them iirc. Somehow, he lost his charm on the third one.

He's also responsible for Batman Begins and Man of Steel. I think he's a good writer, but it's almost impossible to be great all the time at a job in the arts.

reply

I liked all blades in their own way.

reply

More power to ya. I liked one and two, but I couldn't get into Blade: Trinity. It felt quippy and tired to me. But, I did think Ryan Reynolds was funny.

Superman

David Goyer is a hack. I'll give him credit for being a good "idea man" ala George Lucas. He has good ideas but when he writes a screenplay by himself you can see he's really NOT that good.

To me he ruined Superman more because Superman means the most to me.

I detest everything about Blade Trinity. Terminator Dark Fate was also an abortion but that franchise was damaged before Goyer got there.

I don't give Goyer credit for Batman Begins because we all know Nolan did the heavy lifting.
