I Wonder How Much Religion Influences Liking This

Face it... it's a very 'spiritual' movie. Regardless of specific faith, I wonder if a lot of the hate/love for this movie breaks down along non-religious/religious lines.

I enjoyed the movie a LOT. I'm a person of faith. I don't in any way think of Superman as being some 'God' but I do think part of the reason I like it is because it -is- a fairly sophisticated morality play---where good triumphs over evil.

I think a lot of people who are drawm to, say, Frank Miller stuff, like the anti-hero aspect and dislike MOS because it =is= such a throw back to 'knights in shining armour'.

Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement... Listen, kid, we're all in it together.

I don't know about anybody else. Myself, I'm an atheist (raised protestant), and I still enjoy this film. Now, perhaps that may be due to the fact that I've been reading the comics since the late seventies, but I dig just about anything Superman (except III and IV). I have also studied comics history, so I know that the original creators were Jewish and created Superman as a modern day Moses, and from there Supes became an allegorical Christ-figure. None of that makes me enjoy it any less, I just find it fascinating.
