Goof with Dates (SPOILER in this note)

I'm not usually watching for movie goofs the whole time since I want to absorb the story and get immersed but...

The discrepancy between the dates on the father's headstone vs. the text in the newspaper obituary are hugely different.
Roy Armstrong on the headstone showed a birth year of 1942 and a death of 2002 (I think).

The obituary gave a birth date of something like Feb. 21, 1923 and death of 2004 or so?

A simple thing to keep straight in my mind.
Annoyed me a bit.

I just watched this movie and noticed this too! On his tomb stone it says 2002 but in the obituary it says 2006, that is a big difference. I also noticed the birth was wrong but I couldn't remember the specific dates. I am glad I am not the only one who noticed!
