Meaningless...

for anyone that has never left their hick town, perhaps they will be awed by seeing things outside of their tiny existence but for everyone else it was just some guy excited to see what his DSLR could do.

I agree. I really didnt like the music which says a lot about the directors taste; it was bland and soulless. The oppening scene with the girl dancing made me want to throw myself off a bridge. It was completely her ego dancing. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! That was a bad performance and should not be called art. See how the ego ruins everything?

I feel like this film satisfies the pseudo intellectuals and egotistical people.

I don't see what ego or techie culture has to do with this. Sure, it's a technical feat but I found most of the imagery and music to be glorious. I understand when something is just not to your taste. Rap music doesn't do much for me but it does for a lot of others, so I respect that. I assume that everyone shown was giving an incredible performance, even if they're trying to pick through trash efficiently. Don't judge what you don't understand.

I totally agree. This is nothing but a masturbation of a cameraman. I rated it 1/10 for lack of substance. If I want to see photography porn, I look at photos, I don't watch a film.

Same as the above. Just mish-mash a few high quality youtube videos together and it would be the same thing as this film. Zero entertainment.

It has SOME meaning, but it's really just an excuse for the director to travel to a bunch of pretty locations to get a bunch of cool-looking shots. From seeing the film, Samsara is probably about something along the lines of birth, death, existentialism etc. But these themes were conveyed in very loose terms, and the primary focus of the film is clearly just to provide a visually impressive experience.

Honestly, while I like the film, I don't see it as a particularly meaningful work of art. Just shooting a bunch of pretty images without any context and then cutting them together to convey some vague, abstract themes doesn't require much artistry. It's honestly not much different to being thrown a bunch of random pictures on the floor and then being asked to find the deeper meanings of said pictures in relation to one another yourself. But hey, at least the pictures were pretty!

I don't get why people seek out a film on an online forum just to criticise it , seems a bit too much like pissing on everyone else's parade, there are clearly going to be lovers of the movie in such places. I can't imagine me ever watching a film, not being too taken by it, then deciding to trash it somewhere where people who may love it will obviously gravitate, quite a monster ego goes that far !
